Yes, they've gone....sometime early Saturday. I missed the actually departure scene, but I knew within a very short time that they had headed south. I'll miss them chattering over me while I work in the garden and seeing them glide about the fields, catching bugs as they go. The actual departure date is on the calendar for the first time ever. I can't help wondering how far they've traveled and how many of them will survive the long journey.
Yes, I am north of Cincinnati and mine left a 10 days ago. I missed them immediately. No one swooping around the lawn tractor to catch bugs as I mow.
ReplyDeleteI love that swooping around thing they do! They fly around me when I'm on the big tractor out in the fields.
DeleteJust another reminder of summer drawing to a close. It makes me sad. :(
ReplyDeleteNot me! Although, I'll admit I don't have many complaints about this summer. Until this year, we've had a string of really hot, dry, long summers that left me longing for cold, snowy winters!
